The map is geographically correct and updated in some geographical details but in others still remains with old misconceptions. The map has been expertly restored and mounted on canvas.Waterstaining, rubbed and crackings affecting some parts of the plate. Highly decorative map by Nolin, royal geographer of King Louis XIV and prominent figure in the later XVII century in France. The present example is most probably an issue dated 1720-30 and before the later issues by Crepy around 1750-70. Ref : Shirley 605, pgs 598-601.
